Chile and Egypt resume imports of Brazilian meat

Chile and Egypt announced that they will normalise imports of Brazilian meat.

The Agricultural and Livestock Service of Chile lifted its restriction on imports of Brazilian meat into the country.

The country maintained the suspension only for the 21 meatpackers targeted by Operation Weak Flesh, conducted by the Brazilian Federal Police.

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture has officially declared to be reassured of the quality of Brazilian meat after tests performed by three different government agencies, who also testified that the Brazil’s chicken and beef production is in accordance with Islamic laws.

In a statement, President Michel Temer and Minister Blairo Maggi thanked the two countries for their gestures of confidence and friendship.
