Thanks to this initiative developed under the MEDISS project, the laboratory and equipment can measure different parameters of water and wastewater, an effective method for carrying out surveillance on the water quality.
The laboratory has been fully equipped with a multi-parameter system that contains sensor, probes, spectrophometer, analysers and instruments needed to test the water and wastewater quality, fitted with latest technologies and high-level features.
With the aim to set the most suitable blending ratio of treated wastewater, brackish saline water and fresh water to be used in irrigation in the Jordan Valley, PWEG has started testing the quality of saline water of farmers wells in the MEDISS state-of-the-art laboratory.
The results of this testing phase are going to be disseminated to all farmers in the Jordan Valley, but mostly, they will support MEDISS agronomist and water experts to define the optimal ratios of blended water to be used in irrigation of agricultural crops. ■
