According to him, the crops with high records are on wheat, rapeseed, peas, barley, sunflower, soy, corn, potatoes and grapes.

He pointed out that all the record output made by farmers had the support of the state, which granted the subsidies on time, but also they benefited from favorable climatic conditions.

The Minister of Agriculture said that in the case of two crops, sunflower and corn, Romania could be the first in the EU not only in terms of cultivated area but also of production.

At the same time, Romania’s grain harvest has exceeded 14.5 million tonnes this year, with an average yield of almost 6 tonnes per hectare.

Romania also posted two historic records this year, one for wheat, a harvest of over 10 million tonnes, and the other for rapeseed, where the production reached 1.7 million tonnes.
