Carrefour: We will sell only French vegetables

Carrefour said that after the highly unusual weather conditions that 2014 has seen and the serious disruptions that have resulted from the sanctions imposed on Russia, it started to offer only France Origin seasonable vegetables.

Carrefour in partnership with the French Federation of Vegetable Producers, Légumes de France, has decided to support French producers of everyday vegetables and promote production in France of carrots, potatoes, onions, turnips, chicory, shallots, etc. while they are in season.

The commitment covers all of Carrefour's hypermarkets and supermarkets in France, a total of nearly 1,200 stores. The agreement came into force will cover the horticultural products of spring and summer.

Carrefour has more than 4,500 stores in France, distributed in four formats: hypermarket, supermarket, convenience and cash & carry.
