Poland core CPI decline continues at steady pace

Poland's core consumer price index, which excludes food and energy prices, declined at a stable pace in August, data from the National Bank of Poland showed.

The net CPI decreased 0.4 percent year-on-year in August, same as in July. The fall was in line with economists' expectations. In June, prices fell 0.2 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, the net CPI dropped 0.1 percent in August after remaining unchanged in July. Economists had forecast a 0.1 percent slump.

Overall CPI declined 0.8 percent annually in August after a 0.9 percent drop in July.
