Slovakia: 10.5% growth of total exports of goods

Total imports of goods increased by 14.2 % to EUR 8.4 billion. The foreign trade balance was in deficit in the amount of EUR 23.1 million.
In January-November 2021, compared to the same period last year, total exports of goods increased by 16 % to EUR 80.6 billion and total imports by 18.7 % to EUR 78.7 billion. The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 2 billion (by EUR 1.2 billion lower than in the same period last year).
In January-November 2021, compared to the same period last year, exports to EU Member States increased by 17.6 % and accounted for 79.9 % of total exports. Imports from EU Member States represented 64.9 % of total imports and increased by 15.4 % year on year.
In January-November 2021, compared to the same period last year, exports to non-EU countries increased by 10.3 % and accounted for 20.1% of total exports. Imports from non-EU countries represented 35.1% of total imports and increased by 25.2 % year on year.
The most traded SITC class in the foreign trade of the SR were Machinery and transport equipment with a share of 61.2 % in total exports and 48 % in total imports.
In November 2021, after seasonal adjustment of data1), total exports of goods reached the value of EUR 7.5 billion, a year-on-year growth of 5.8% was recorded. Total imports of goods increased by 10.9 % to EUR 7.4 billion.
The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 98.7 million (by EUR 319.8 million lower than in November 2020). ■
