A total of ten of the 15 industrial sectors have already achieved higher industrial production than before the pandemic (as in June 2019).

In Slovakia, industrial production (IP) increased by 13,7 % year-on-year in June, while the growth rate decreased by a third compared to the previous month. Nevertheless, it managed to exceed by 4,1 % the level of production from June 2019.
As fort the fifteen industries1), the year-on-year growth of production is currently recorded by thirteen, and at the same time ten industries have already managed to achieve higher values than before the pandemic (as in June 2019). After adjusting for seasonal effects, industrial production increased by 3 % in June 2021 compared to May 2021.
In total, in the first six months of this year, IP increased by 19,3 % year-on-year. As for the industrial sectors that affected the most the overall growth of production, the most significant increase was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment (by 30,3 %), manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (by 25,8 %), manufacture of machinery and equipment (by 27,2 %). %), electricity and gas supply (by 14,4 %) and in manufacture of rubber and plastic products (by 16,1 %).
Production decreased in manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (by 9,3 %). However, these high values are mainly related to the destabilization of production in individual sectors in 2020 under the influence of anti-pandemic measures.
According to the main industrial groupings, production of consumer durables increased by 31,9 %, production of capital goods by 26,2 %, production for intermediate consumption by 19 %, production related to energy by 9,9 % and production of non-durable goods by 4,4 %. ■
