Poland's crooked forest continues to baffle scientists
Scientists can't come up with a natural cause for this type of bending, leading many to believe the strange trees are result of human interference, The Weather Network reports.
The pines were planted around 1930 and some speculate they were altered to create naturally-curved wood for furniture or boats. But if the trees were shaped by humans, it's not clear what methods were used.
Every tree is bent at a 90 degree angle, and each is bent in a northward direction. A Google search reveals a host of theories - everything from the paranormal to wind, snow or fires. Nobody knows what actually happened. ■
