Armenian military aircraft crashes, two pilots killed

An Armenian military aircraft SU-25 crashed on Tuesday morning in the mountains in the northwestern area of the transcaucasian state, with two pilots killed, Armenia's defense ministry said.

The jet crashed near the town of Maralik, and both the two pilots aboard were killed, according to ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan.

The ministry said the aircraft disappeared from radars some 15 minutes after taking off from the Gyumri airport on a training flight.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by military investigators.
