Georgia: Strong earthquake threatens, urgent measures required

NASA has provided Georgian scientists with unique data, according to which a powerful quake threatens Tbilisi, said Georgian professor Anzor Sakandelidze, Trend reports.

One of the earthquake epicenters is located near Tbilisi, so it is necessary to organize constant monitoring.

Sakandelidze said that a research team in Georgia, led by Professor Manana Kachakhidze is working on the matter, and unless urgent measures are implemented, there may be a lot of casualties.

Georgia is a full member of the International Network for Frontier Research on Earthquake Precursors (INFREP), whose members are Japan, Italy, Russia, Greece, Austria, Portugal, Turkey and Cyprus.
