The crime organization, which had been under surveillance for weeks, was smuggling large quantities of drugs into Greece and other countries from Albania using speedboats, the report said.
The sea operation began on Friday, when the speedboat entered the Greek territorial waters after leaving the Albanian shore.
The drug bust continued until late Saturday and was made south of the coast of Attica, between Makronissos and Kea islands following a chase using boats, helicopters and even divers.
The law enforcement authorities detained two Albanians and an Italian national on the speedboat, and found numerous plastic bags containing cannabis, according to the report. ■
