Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) received respective reports that a staff of Hong Kong Airport Services (HAS) has been confirmed to have contracted coronavirus, and that a worker of a subcontractor of the Three-runway System (3RS) project and two airport security staff have been identified as close contact of coronavirus patients.
Relevant areas of the abovementioned cases have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
The AA was informed by HAS that a staff responsible for ramp handling was confirmed to have contracted coronavirus. The staff last reported duty on 10 December and had worn a mask while working. HAS has arranged all staff members who were on the same team with the concerned staff to undergo coronavirus test.
Separately, the AA was informed by 3RS contractor Sinohydro-Powerchina-Paul Y-Rock One Joint Venture, that a worker employed by one of its subcontractors has been isolated in hospital after his family member was tested positive for coronavirus.
The concerned worker was responsible for plant operations and last reported duty on 14 December. Relevant work procedure has been suspended and those who had been in contact with the concerned worker are undergoing coronavirus test.
The AA was also notified by Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO) that two of their staff have been identified as close contact of coronavirus patients. They will undergo coronavirus test and quarantine arranged by the Government.
The two concerned staff were responsible for passenger screening and last reported duty on 14 December and 15 December respectively. Other AVSECO staff members who had been in contact with the concerned staff members will be arranged to undergo coronavirus test. ■
