According to the directive issued by the Dutch Foreign Ministry, citizens of The Netherlands are “strongly discouraged” from traveling to the Greek islands and those who do will be subjected to 10 days of self-isolation on their return.

The directive advises that while citizens planning to travel to mainland Greece and the Peloponnese for recreation reasons should not cancel their plans, they should exercise caution and abide by health safety regulations.

According to Greek state broadcaster ERT, the Dutch travel advise notes also that “the number of people infected with the coronavirus during their holidays on one of the Greek islands has increased sharply.

This has an impact on travel instructions for the Greek islands (including islands connected to the mainland by bridge).”
