One dead in incident in Wacker plant in U.S.

A worker who was among five injured in an incident in Wacker’s chemical plant in Charleston, Tennessee on November 13, has since died of their injuries.

The chemical company said that three of the injured continued to be treated in local hospitals while one worker had been treated and released following the incident.

According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the plant’s Communication and Executive Coordinator Lisa Mantooth said that the incident happened at around 10:15 local time on November 13 and that an investigation started immediately.

Mantooth said that family members of the worker who died had been notified and that details about the incident would be shared as the investigation develops.
