One dead, two injured in mine accident in BiH

One person was killed and two slightly injured after an accident occurred in a coal mine on Monday near Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) city of Tuzla, some 120 kilometers north of the capital.

The accident happened in "Coal Mine Banovici" after vehicle collision, spokesperson of the Prosecutors Office of Tuzla Canton Admir Arnautovic told local media.

"The accident occurred when the driver of a damper vehicle working on the unloading of coal was going backward without noticing the vehicle that arrived to take workers during the beginning of the shift," Arnautovic said.

During the accident, the damper vehicle run over the Land Rover vehicle, killing a driver, while two workers who managed to jump off the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

All the necessary investigative actions will be carried out in order to determine more details of the circumstances that caused the accident, said the Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton.
