46% of German companies find it difficult to find IT specialists

Nearly half (46%) of the enterprises in Germany which recruited or intended to recruit information technology specialists in 2014 had difficulties in filling these vacancies.

The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that a total of 9% of the enterprises with more than 9 persons employed recruited or intended to recruit IT specialists in 2014.

This proportion however depends very much on the size of the enterprise: it was 5% for enterprises with 10 to 49 persons employed, 16% for enterprises with 50 to 249 persons employed, and as much as 44% for large enterprises (more than 249 persons employed).
