Albania new hit destination: $552 million in 3 months

oreign tourists and visitors this summer have helped generate more than 500 million euros in revenue for Albania.

During the July-September period, the peak of tourism season, foreign visitors spent 521 million euros ($552 million) in Albania, according to the data released by the Albanian central bank.

As a result, the revenues generated by tourism sector jumped 25 percent year on year in the July-September period from a year ago.

In the first nine months, Albania's tourism sector generated 1.1 billion euros, an increase of 15 percent year on year.
