Belarus to ship 4,000 tonnes of milk powder to Venezuela

Belarus has signed a new contract to deliver full milk powder to Venezuela, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.




The Agriculture and Food Ministry has held talks to sign an agreement to ship Belarusian-made full milk powder to Venezuela, a representative of the ministry said. At the meeting the sides praised good results of the year 2013, high quality of the Belarusian product and expressed eagerness to continue trade and economic cooperation.

?t the negotiations the sides agreed to sign a new contract to export 4,000 tonnes of full milk powder to Venezuela by the end of the year. Three Belarusian companies, namely OAO Bellakt, Lepel Plant of Dairy Products and Lida Dairy Cannery, will export milk powder.

According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, in Q1 2014 Belarus shipped 1,000 tonnes of full milk powder to Venezuela. On the whole Belarus exported 8,800 tonnes of full milk powder, including 7,500 tonnes to Russia, in January-March 2014.

Belarusian dairy factories started to export vitaminized milk powder to Venezuela in 2007. About 40,000 tonnes of this product has been exported since then.
