Cyber Monday to be largest online shopping day in history

Cyber Monday this year is expected to be the largest online shopping day in history with robust sales, according to research firms.

Adobe Digital Insights or ADI, stated that online sales on Cyber Monday on November 28 is expected to reach $3.36 billion, a 9.4 percent growth from last year.

Meanwhile, ComScore predicts that online spending on Cyber Monday, which comes after Black Friday, would rise to $3.5 billion from $3.12 billion last year.

According to ADI, the upcoming holiday season will be the biggest online shopping period yet, expecting 11 percent growth from last year and $91.6 billion in total holiday online sales.

ComScore's preliminary holiday shopping forecast is for sales to rise as much as 19 percent to $81 billion.

Meanwhile, the National Retail Federation is projecting a growth of 3.6 percent in holiday sales for the November and December period to $655.8 billion.
