Iran is capable of providing regional countries with repair and maintenance services for airplanes, Head of Headquarter for Development of Knowledge-Based Aviation and Aeronautics Technology and Industry of Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology said.

Manouchehr Manteghi referred to Iran success in repair and maintenance of different kinds of military planes, choppers and business aircraft after the Islamic Revolution.

"Today we can claim that we are self-sufficient and are able to send services to other countries in the region," he added.

Big technical and scientific strides have been taken for solving problems of the aviation industry and Avionics systems, Manteghi said.

Avionics are the electronic systems used on aircraft, artificial satellites, and spacecraft.

Avionic systems include communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems, and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform individual functions.
