Mexico census identifies 5.7 million businesses

The average works out to 5.2 people per firm. The comparable figure in 2004 was 5.4 employees per firm.
According to INEGI, 49.5% of employment was in non-financial services companies, 24.3% in commerce, 18.1% in manufacturing and 8.1% in other activities.
According to the census, 95.4% of firms in Mexico employed in 2014 between 0 and 10 people. ■
