Moscow created some 3.5 million jobs

Moscow has helped create about 3.5 million jobs in the regions, Sergei Sobyanin said in a live interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.

He said that the capital helps the regions to develop and makes a big contribution to the country’s economy.

“Federal budget tax revenues made by companies that are located in Moscow account for all transfers from the federal budget to the regional budgets. That is, some 1.5 trillion roubles from Moscow go to the federal budget. This sum is enough to support all Russia’s regions,” Sobyanin said.

Thanks to the development of the economy, Moscow improves public spaces, restores monuments, and creates new parks and cultural centres. In turn, all this helps attract investments, develop production facilities and create jobs.

“On the one hand, we create new jobs; there are enough of them so Moscow does not know what a mass unemployment is, including the unemployment of young people.

“On the other hand, we provide a high level of social protection, so that elderly people, pensioners and veterans feel comfortable living in Moscow,” the Mayor said.
