Number of passengers declines in Morocco

Commercial air traffic in the airports of Morocco had a slight decline of 1.04% in the first semester of 2015 in comparison to the same period of 2014.

Airport terminals received 8,264,567 passengers against 8,351,793 in the first six months of last year, according to the National Airports Office, Onda.

The domestic flow declined 0.72% and stood at 837,442 passengers, and the international flow also declined 1.09% with 7,427,125 passengers.

The minister of Communication and spokesperson of the Moroccan government, Mustapha El Khalfi, said the terrorist attacks occurred in the countries of the region had a limited impact over tourism in Morocco.

On the other hand, the flow of aircraft increased 1.62% and reached 75,796. It occurred due to an increase in cargo transportation.

In the first semester, 31,100 tons were handled, an increase of 9.43% over the same period of last year.
