Sweden exports increased 3.8 percent, imports 5 percent
For the period January to September the volume of exports increased by 3.4 percent and the volume of imports increased by 4.5 percent compared to the same period in 2014. In current prices, exports and imports of goods both increased by 5 percent.
The volume of exports of goods for the period January to September is 1 percent lower than the highest historical value for the same period that occurred in 2011. The volume of imports for the period January to September is the highest volume recorded for the same period.
Exports of goods increased by 3.8 percent in volume during the third quarter of 2015 compared to the third quarter of 2014.
Exports of machinery and transport equipment continued to rise for a third consecutive quarter. During the third quarter of 2015 exports increased by 3 percent in volume. Within the product area, the subgroups instruments/optical products and road vehicles increased by 9 and 18 percent respectively while electronics and telecommunication products decreased by 8 percent.
Exports of mineral fuels and electric current increased for the first quarter since 2014 and showed an increase of 7 percent in volume during the third quarter. Chemical and rubber products continued to rise during the third quarter, following a strong quarter for pharmaceutical products. The product area for wood and paper products continued to increase during the third quarter.
The product area for other products continued to increase for a fifth consecutive quarter. All subgroups within the product area contributed to the increase. ■
