Tourists in Italy spend 8 euros a day on food

Tourists in Italy spend just over eight euros on food a day, Confagricoltura farmers association said.

The organization noted that each tourist is "worth" 2.48 euros for agriculture and 5.59 euros for the food industry.

Confagricoltura said Italy's farm holiday sector posted estimated turnover of 1.2 billion euros - not including 0.9 billion in food product sales to foreign tourists.
