The decree, signed by President Mauricio Macri, Cabinet chief Marcos Peña and Security Minister Patricia Bullrich, makes the new agency responsible for coordinating and executing government anti-drug actions, and for planning the registration, technical analysis and use-control of the chemical raw materials of mind-altering drugs.

It will also be charged with controlling any transactions involving the possession, use, production, manufacturing and transport of chemical ingredients and substances that can be used to make drugs, and will provide counsel in criminal cases related to drug trafficking.
