Bulgaria’s Economy Minister Bozhidar Lukarski and Sweden’s Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg have agreed on the need to step up promotion of Bulgarian companies to Swedish partners and encouraging direct contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries, the Economy Ministry in Sofia said in a press release.

Bulgarian businesses are faced with a considerable shortage of information about the opportunities offered by the Swedish market which is one of the main obstacles to increasing the presence of Bulgarian companies there, particularly those which have significant export potential, Lukarski said during a working visit to Sweden, according to the press release.

Increased support of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be in the focus of contacts between the Bulgarian government agency for promotion of SMEs, BSMEPA, and Business Sweden, the Scandinavian country’s agency in charge of promoting the growth of Swedish companies abroad and investment opportunities for foreign companies in Sweden.
