China to help Ukraine with priority projects

Ukraine hopes to receive free financial assistance from the Chinese government for the implementation of priority projects.

Under the agreement, $1.6 million is to be attracted under an intergovernmental agreement on technical and economic cooperation.[break]

A respective decision was taken at a government meeting on Wednesday, the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry told Ukrinform.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft resolution on signing an agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the People's Republic of China on technical and economic cooperation, and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ihor Prasolov was empowered to sign it," reads the statement.

The signing of the agreement will help Ukraine attract CNY 10 million ($1.6 million) as grant assistance from the Chinese government for the implementation of the priority projects of the Ukrainian side, the ministry added.
