Construction of 2 nuclear power plants in Iran to start in September

Vice President and Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced that the operations to construct two new nuclear power plant in Bushehr in Southern Iran will start in coming days.

"The construction of two new nuclear power plants will start in Bushehr on September 8," Ali Akbar Salehi said. He said that it will take 10 years to complete the nuclear power plants.

Salehi said that $10 billion is needed to construct the nuclear power plants.

He pointed to Russia's cooperation with Iran on construction of the power plants, and said, 'In the cooperation contract with the Russians, the emphasis has been laid on making use of technical capabilities of Iran for implementation of the project.
