Iran to barter $30bn technical, engineering service with Turkmenistan

Iran and Turkmenistan are to develop barter trade so that Iran will import Turkmen gas in return for the technical and engineering services to the value of $30 billion.




A Ministry of Petroleum official said the two sides have finalized part of the deal to the amount of $2.5 billion for export of technical and engineering goods and services.

Turkmenistan is the biggest natural gas supplier to Iran. The Iran-Turkmenistan barter trade will prepare a highly extensive market in Turkmenistan for Iranian private sector.

Agreement for the barter trade had been reached in a meeting of Iranian and Turkmen presidents.
