The delegation will be comprised of representatives of at least 46 companies active in the construction and mining sectors, the Mehr News Agency quoted Pourfallah as saying. The visit will open a new chapter in bilateral trade through promoting joint ventures, he added.

The Iranian official also noted that Iran exported €1.142 billion of goods (including oil) to Italy in the first six months of 2014, a 58 percent rise compared to the same period in 2013. Meanwhile, Iran imported €450 million of goods from Italy in the six-month period, an 11.6 percent decrease year on year.

Italy was the 19th leading importer of Iranian non-oil goods and the 7th leading exporter of goods to Iran in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014, according to the Iran Customs Administration.

Iran exported $200.6 million of non-oil goods to Italy and imported $849.3 million of goods from the European country between March 2013 and March 2014.
