Latam promising market for Russian military aviation

Latin American are one of the most promising markets for Russian military aviation over the medium term.

"Almost in every region, there are countries, with which cooperation has not started yet or is nascent but which express keen interest in Russian equipment and weapons," The head of the department on exports of special property and services at Russian Rosoboronexport, Sergey Kornev said.

"We’ll see no quick decisions, and speaking of new markets or new-quality relationships, it is more appropriate to talk about a 5-10-year term."

Initial offers had been made to all potential customers, he added. Latin America was among the promising markets, Kornev said, where a large number of countries were swiftly developing and keen to strengthen their air forces and aviation industry and, most importantly, were friendly towards Russia.
