Moscow to respond to Canadian sanctions against Russia

Staff writer |
Moscow will respond to Canadian sanctions and hopes that Ottawa will think about the consequences of the sanctions which fuel the Ukrainian conflict, Alexander Lukashevich, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said.

"Canada’s bet on sanctions will definitely be answered," Lukashevich said. "However, we hope that Ottawa will think about the consequences of its actions, which in fact fuel the further armed standoff in Ukraine, and realize that pressing Russia with sanctions has no perspectives."

On Tuesday, Canada announced new sanctions against Russia in relation to the situation in Ukraine. The list includes names of 37 individuals and 17 entities from Russia and Ukraine.

The list also includes LPR's representative at the Contact Group Vladislav Deinego and other officials of the self-proclaimed republics.
