Russia calls for boosting ties with Tehran

Russian Deputy Prime Minister in Charge of Defense and Space Industry Dmitry Rogozin has urged strengthening ties between Iran and Russia.

Russian official and Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei held a meeting on Tuesday in which they discussed the latest bilateral cooperation in the economic, scientific, technological and defense fields.

During the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of expansion of bilateral relations between Tehran and Moscow, especially measures needed to expedite convention of the committee on science and technology cooperation which would be attended by Iranian vice-president.

Sanaei and Rogozin also reviewed enforcement of comprehensive cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia including establishment of two nuclear energy units in Iran.
