Slovakia uses all European funds allocated for transport

Slovakia has made use of 100 percent of European funds designated for transport with over 3.7 billion euros ($4.04 billion) invested so far since 2007.

"The ministry set the complete use of European funds as its top priority, and I have the pleasure to state that we have successfully accomplished this task," said Slovak Transport, Construction and Regional Development Minister Jan Pociatek.

He added that the EU funds were used to build 140 road, rail and public passenger projects.

The projects include a total of 130 km of motorways and expressways, more than 600 km of first-category roads built or modernized, along with 80 km of rail track.
