UAE calls for greater UAE-EU partnership in science

UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansouri stressed the importance of a further boost in the partnership in scientific research between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the European Union (EU).

During a meeting with the top management of Flemish institute for technological research (VITO), led by its CEO Dirk Fransaer, Al Mansouri, called for activating projects that implement and promote research in areas which are top priority to both sides.

He also called for student exchange visits and holding of joint activities including seminars, conferences, discussion and group studies. Al Mansour was informed about the VITO's mandate, vision and mission as well as areas of its expertise.

Suleiman Hamed Salem Al Mazrouei, Head of the UAE mission to the European Union and UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, members of the UAE delegation accompanying Al Mansouri, and executives of VITO, attended the meeting.

Al Mansouri provided a detailed overview about performance of the UAE economy, key economic sectors, and the National Innovation Strategy.
