Ukraine gets $1 billion in direct investment annually

For 22 years of independence, Ukraine has received$ 22 billion dollars in foreign direct investment.

Chairman of the Committee of Economists of Ukraine Andriy Novak announced this on a talk show at Kyiv Regional State TV and Radio Company - Central Channel. "Indeed, foreign direct investment in 22 years of independence equals exactly to USD 22 billion. On average, $1 billion per year since independence."

At the same time, in general, over the years of independence, Ukraine has received $55 billion in foreign direct investment, of which $29.5 billion came from Cyprus and $3.5 billion - from other offshore areas.

"That is, overall, of $55 billion in alleged foreign direct investment $33 billion is a reinvestment of the Ukrainian removed capitals," Novak said.
