Altyn appoints Vladimir Shkolnik as non-executive director

Astana, Kazakhstan - November 27, 2017, Astana, Kazakhstan - Altyn, an exploration company, announced the appointment of Vladimir Shkolnik as a non-executive director.

Mr. Shkolnik has held a number of high profile positions in the Kazakhstan government, and is currently advising the Kazakhstan government on industrial and energy matters.

Mr. Shkolnik's previous positions include the office of Minister of Energy a position he held until 2016, Minister of Trade and Industry a position he held from 2008, in 2007 he was appointed Deputy Head of Presidential Administration, reporting directly to the President on economic, financial, energy and industrial matters.

Mr. Shkolnik is an academic with a doctorate in physics and has written a number of papers and books in the field of energy, and natural resources, and other scientific fields.

He has been influential in setting up academic institutions, in the areas of mineral processing, nuclear power in Kazakhsthan.

As part of this process Mr. Shkolnik created a number of joint enterprises with leading companies in Japan, France and Russia in the area of nuclear power and the processing of rare metals.

Mr. Shkolnik has spent the majority of his time in the last five years in government roles.
