Caspian Energy appoints Wei Zhao as CEO

Calgary, AB, Canada - September 14, 2015, Calgary, AB, Canada - Caspian Energy, an oil and gas explorer, announced that it has appointed Wei Zhao as its new chief executive officer.

Mr. Zhao is currently a director of Caspian and has been the chairman of the Sixth Energy Ltd., a significant shareholder of Caspian, since 2010. From 2000 to 2010, he was the purchasing manager of MI Energy Corp. in Beijing, China.

Mr. Zhao holds a degree in financial accounting from the Jilin Radio and TV University in Changchun, Jilin, China.

Caspian has also appointed Erbolat Kulumbetov as the interim general director of Caspian's operating subsidiary, Aral Petroleum Capital LLP.

Mr. Kulumbetov has been the chief geologist of Aral since 2010 and has considerable experience in the oil and gas industry in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has acted as the general director for several energy companies in Kazakhstan, including Victoria Oil and Gas, Olager Oil JSC, and Resursy JSC
