Cellcom Israel chairman Ami Erel to step down

Netanya, Israel - Cellcom Israel announced that Ami Erel, the company's chairman of the board of directors, informed the company of his resignation from the board of directors from March 1, 2020.


Mr. Erel has served as Chairman of Cellcom Israel Board of Directors since 2005.

Mr. Erel also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Discount Investment Corporation Ltd. from 2001 to 2013.

From March to December 2007, Mr. Erel also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Netvision Ltd., where he served prior to March 2007 and from 2008 to 2011, as Chairman of the board of directors.

From 1997 to 1999, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bezeq – The Israeli Telecommunications Corporation Ltd.

Mr. Erel also serves as deputy Chairman of the board of directors of Makhteshim-Agan Industries Ltd. where he served from 2006 and as a director and from January 2011 through October 2011 as Chairman of the board of directors.

Mr Erel also serves as a director of Shufersal Ltd., Elron Electronic Industries Ltd. where he served from 1999 to 2001 as President and until January 2007 as Chairman of the board of directors, Knafaim Holdings Ltd. and Dan hotels Ltd.

He served as the chairman of the executive committee of the Manufacturers Association of Israel from 2005 to 2009 and from 2009 to 2011 he served as the chairman of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute.
