Generali names Marco Sesana as Italy's country manager

Trieste, Italy - December 15, 2016, Trieste, Italy - Assicurazioni Generali, an insurance group, appointed Marco Sesana as country manager of Italy.

Mr. Sesana will also retain the position of Chief Executive Officer of Generali Italia.

Mr. Sesana joined Generali Italia in 2013 as Chief Operating Officer and was tasked with integrating its Italian insurance companies, successfully concluding this initiative in 2015.

Mr. Sesana subsequently took over responsibility for the insurance business – including life, non-life and claims management – before becoming Chief Executive Officer of Generali Italia in May 2016.

The Board of Directors has also appointed Timothy Ryan as new Group Chief Investment Officer, starting from 9 January 2017.

Mr. Ryan has vast experience in asset management, having held leading roles in AXA Investment Managers and AllianceBernstein, with posts in France, Japan and the UK.

Banca Generali is also included within the area of organizational responsibility of the CIO.

Mr. Ryan holds a degree in International Banking and Finance.

Mr. Sesana and Mr. Ryan will join the Group Management Commitee (GMC) as of January 2017.
