Intrepid Potash promotes senior executives

Denver, Co., USA - May 20, 2010, Denver, Co., USA - Intrepid Potash, announced today management changes in the board of directors, effective immediately.

Robert P. Jornayvaz III has become Executive Chairman of the Board and has transitioned from his role as Chief Executive Officer.

Hugh E. Harvey, Jr., Intrepid’s Chief Technology Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, has become Executive Vice Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Jornayvaz currently is Executive Chairman of the Board. Prior to this position he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Intrepid Potash since its formation in November 2007 until May 2010 and has served, directly or indirectly, as a manager of Intrepid Mining since its formation in January 2000.

Mr. Jornayvaz is 100% owner of Intrepid Production Corporation, which owns 40% of Intrepid Mining and 100% of IPC Management LLC, one of two managers of Intrepid Mining. He also owns 50% of Intrepid Oil & Gas, LLC.

Mr. Jornayvaz graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and holds a B.A. degree from the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas and has 27 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Harvey, Jr. currently serves as Chief Technology Officer and has served as a Director of Intrepid Potash since its formation in November 2007 and has served, directly or indirectly, as a manager of Intrepid Mining since its formation in January 2000.

Mr. Harvey is 100% owner of Harvey Operating and Production Company, which owns 40% of Intrepid Mining and 100% of HOPCO Management LLC, one of two managers of Intrepid Mining. He also owns 50% of Intrepid Oil & Gas, LLC.
