K&L Gates adds former FTC official as antitrust partner in Washington office

Washington, D.C., USA - October 6, 2009, Washington, D.C., USA - K&L Gates LLP welcomes Kenneth L. Glazer as a partner in its antitrust practice.

Mr. Glazer joins K&L Gates after serving as Deputy Director of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Bureau of Competition. An internationally-recognized antitrust lawyer, Mr. Glazer helped direct the Commission’s approximately 200-lawyer Bureau of Competition, which, along with the U.S. Justice Department’s Antitrust Division, is responsible for all federal enforcement of the antitrust laws.

Having served under chairmen from both parties during his FTC tenure, Mr. Glazer oversaw merger and non-merger investigations in various industries, including computer software and hardware; microprocessors; hospitals; pharmaceuticals; medical devices; consumer products; retail; chemicals and agricultural products; cable television; DVDs and video games; petroleum; and real estate. He also represented the FTC in numerous proceedings with foreign enforcement officials.
