Glendale, Ca., USA - August 6, 2012, Glendale, Ca., USA - Paul Grimwood, CEO of Nestlé UK & Ireland, has been appointed to the role of chairman and CEO of Nestlé USA, effective October, 2012.

Mr. Grimwood has been CEO of Nestlé UK & Ireland since January 2009, and headed the Nestlé UK Confectionery business for three years prior to that.
Mr. Grimwood also led a major investment program to create Nestlé’s next generation of world-class manufacturing operations in the UK. He joined Nestlé in 2001 in Nestlé Purina PetCare UK & Ireland.
Mr. Grimwood succeeds current Chairman and CEO Bradley A. Alford.
Mr. Alford has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé USA, Inc. (Nestle) since January 1, 2006. He serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nestle Brands Company, an operating unit of Nestle USA.
He has held various leadership positions within Nestle since joining Nestle in 1980 as a sales trainee for Carnation Company (Nestle acquired Carnation in 1985).
He served as Head of Sales and Marketing for the Friskies PetCare Division of Nestle Australia in 1989.
Returning to Nestle USA in 1992, he served as President of a business unit within the FoodServices Division and in 1996 was named president of the FoodServices Division.
In 1998, he returned to Australia as regional head of the Nestle Oceania market. Upon his return to the U.S. in 2000, he become president of the Confections & Snacks Division of Nestle USA and was named president and Chief Executive Officer of Nestle Brands Company in 2003.
Mr. Alford has been a Director of Avery Dennison Corporation since April 2010 and Nestlé Usa, Inc. since January 1, 2006. He serves on the Industry Affairs Council of the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
Mr. Alford holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science from Miami University in Ohio.
Fiona Kendrick, currently head of Nestle’s Global Coffee & Beverage Strategic Business Unit, will succeed Mr. Grimwood as chief executive of Nestle UK & Ireland.
Ms. Kendrick joined Nestle in 1980 in the UK. She started her career with Nestle working in sales & marketing for Findus in the Frozen Food Division. She became general manager of the division in 1991 before moving into the coffee business in 1993.
Ms. Kendrick became managing director for the Beverage Division in Nestle UK in 2001, a position which she held for seven years. ■
