Pike Electric names Jim Turner to its board of directors

Mount Airy, N.C., USA - September 18, 2012, Mount Airy, N.C., USA - Pike Electric Corporation, an energy solutions provider, announced that it has elected James L. Turner as a director.

Mr. Turner currently serves as an executive mentor with Merryk & Co., a global business leader mentoring firm.

Previously, Mr. Turner was Group Executive of Duke Energy Corporation and President and Chief Operating Officer of Duke Energy’s U.S. Franchised Electric and Gas business.

Prior to the merger of Duke Energy and Cinergy Corp., Mr. Turner served as President of Cinergy and, prior to that, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cinergy.

Mr. Turner was admitted to the Indiana bar in June 1984.

He served on the Executive Committee of the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates since 1992.

In May of 2001, Mr. Turner completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

In March 2004, he attended and completed the Center for Creative Leadership's Leadership at the Peak program in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
