Riverstone Energy chairman Sir Robert Wilson to step down

St Peter Port, Guernsey - February 29, 2016, St Peter Port, Guernsey - Riverstone Energy Limited (REL), an energy investment company, announced that its chairman Sir Robert Wilson does not intend to offer himself for re-election to the board at the AGM on May 19, 2016.

Sir Robert will accordingly step down from the Board at the conclusion of the meeting, though he will continue as an advisor to REL.

Sir Robert was a Senior Adviser at Morgan Stanley until December 2014 and a Non-executive Independent Director of GlaxoSmithKline plc from November 2003 until 7 May 2014.

He served as Chairman of BG Group plc from January 2004 until May 2012.

Sir Robert was previously Executive Chairman of Rio Tinto plc where he became Chief Executive in 1991 and was Executive Chairman from 1997 until his retirement in 2003.

From 2003 to 2009, he was also Non-executive Chairman of The Economist Group.

Sir Robert has also served as a non-executive director of Boots plc, Diageo plc (senior NED) and BP plc.
