Stefan Matzelle named as new IT manager at Austrian Airlines

Schwechat, Austria - October 13, 2016, Schwechat, Austria - Austrian Airlines announces that Stefan Matzelle assumed the position of head of IT management.

Mr. Matzelle began his aviation career in the Saarlouis parachute battalion of the German Federal Armed Forces, serving as Chief of Staff, Department Information and Communication.

Within the context of his work there, he concluded his studies in political sciences and economics at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces, Munich. In the year 2000, he was named Product Manager IT Network Infrastructure at Tenovis, formerly Bosch Telecom.

Mr. Matzelle has been working for the Lufthansa Group since 2002, serving in various management positions up until 2014.

In July 2014 he moved to Lufthansa headquarters in Frankfurt, where he most recently managed the IT landscape of the entire Lufthansa Group in his role as Director IT Architecture & Innovation Management.
