African swine fever outbreak reported in Bulgaria

An outbreak of African swine fever was confirmed in Bulgaria on Wednesday, the country's Food Safety Agency said in a statement.

A total of 212 pigs were in the farm, which is located in the village of Yunets in the eastern part of the country near the Black Sea coast.

Fifteen pigs on the farm have already died and the others will be culled, the agency said.

The last African swine fever outbreak in Bulgaria was registered on April 23 this year, it added.
