Around 93% of U.S. corn crop harvested

Roughly 93% of the U.S. corn crop for the 2016-17 marketing year had been harvested as of November 13, up from 86% the prior week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said.

Traders were expecting the USDA report to show harvest progress to be above the 90% level, a market participant said.

The five-year average for the period is 92%; the year-ago pace was 95%, the USDA said.

Chicago Board of Trade December corn futures settled 3 cents lower at $3.3725/bushel.
