On December 2, the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa) certified the first export of beef from Santiago del Estero to the European Union.

It is a shipment of 640 kg packaged beef produced by the family business "El Carancho" that departed from the "Madre de Ciudades" airport in Santiago del Estero and after stopping at the "Ministro Pistarini" airport in Ezeiza, arrived in Madrid, Spain.
Agents from the Tucumán and Santiago del Estero offices of the Agrifood Safety and Quality area of the Senasa South NOA Regional Center coordinated the operation to transfer the cargo from the airport of the capital of Santiago to the Ezeiza International air terminal and from there continue towards Madrid.
The task was carried out together with the Ministry of Production of Santiago del Estero , Customs , Airport Security Police (PSA) and Aerolíneas Argentinas, as part of an agreement between the parties so that exports can be made from the "Mother of Cities" Airport ” and thus encourage regional economies.
The coordinator of Food Safety and Quality of the Regional Center NOA Sur Senasa, Luis Nuñez , highlighted the importance of this first shipment to the EU directly from the "Madre de Ciudades" airport:
"This first shipment of packaged beef from the airport from Santiago del Estero to the European continent is a boost to the development of regional economies, generating work and foreign currency income. The staff of our agency is trained throughout the national territory to fulfill the task of certifying agri-food exports to any destination," he said.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Industry of the Province of Santiago del Estero, Llamil Abdala, highlighted the regional work carried out by Senasa.
"Senasa's presence in our province is a fundamental link for these productions to reach world markets. in the conditions and quality that consumers need and want from Argentine products so that these, as now the Santiago production, gain more land” .
Next week, all participating public and private organizations will once again join efforts to carry out an operation of similar characteristics, this time bound for Vatican City , according to the owner of the El Carancho establishment. ■
